I'm hungry. Feed me junk!
MochiLv 4
How it works

Three steps to a lighter PC

Cleaning your computer used to feel like a chore. Now it feels like feeding a very enthusiastic marshmallow.

1

Hatch your pet

Install Junkmochi and meet Mochi in its little room — sunny by day with a butterfly, moon and stars by night. Its health mirrors your PC: neglect your computer and clouds roll in, then it rains and Mochi pulls out a tiny umbrella.

2

Scan — read-only

Mochi sniffs out edible junk: temp files, stale caches, crash reports, the overflowing Recycle Bin. The scan never touches a single file.

3

Feed it

Pick what's on the menu and watch Mochi munch through gigabytes. It levels up with every meal — and your disk breathes again.

What it does

A whole PC tune-up, one hungry pet (= your PC)

Feed — clean junk

Temp files, caches from every major browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera…), throwaway caches from Discord, Slack, Teams & Spotify, GPU shader caches, thumbnails, crash dumps, and the Recycle Bin all become pet food. Drag any file onto Mochi — or right-click it in Explorer and pick Feed to Junkmochi.

Tidy — old downloads

Files untouched for 60+ days in Downloads and on the Desktop get listed. You choose; they go to the Recycle Bin — fully reversible.

Rest — restart reminders

After a few days of uptime, any PC gets groggy. Mochi suggests a nap and restarts Windows with a 60-second grace period you can cancel.

Heal — startup apps

See every app that launches with Windows and flip it on or off right in Junkmochi — no more slow boots. System entries stay safely managed by Windows.

Boost RAM — free memory

One click and Mochi trims the memory background apps are hoarding and hands it back — instant pep for a sluggish PC, with a live gauge showing exactly how much was freed. No restart needed.

Shred — delete for good

Some things shouldn't be recoverable. Secure shred overwrites a file before deleting it, and Wipe free space scrubs the leftovers of everything you deleted long ago. Always opt-in, always asks first.

Runs light on old PCs

Performance mode drops the fancy animations and Mochi pauses when it's hidden, so even a tired laptop stays smooth — it even switches itself on automatically on low-end machines.

Disk map + duplicate finder

A read-only x-ray across all your drives: which folders are biggest, the largest files hiding in them, and a built-in duplicate finder that spots identical copies and reclaims the wasted space — and it skips OneDrive online-only files so nothing gets downloaded by surprise. Plus one-click Quick Feed and optional weekly auto-clean.

More than a cleaner

A pet you'll actually want to care for

Cleaning is the mechanic — Mochi is the point. It grows, changes with the time of day and weather, and rewards you for keeping your PC light.

Level up & grow up

Every meal is XP. Your pet grows from baby to elder as you level, and the whole app repaints through room themes — Meadow, Beach, Snowland, Cosmic, Neon, and beyond. And they say something very special awaits whoever reaches level 100…

Earn coins, dress up Mochi

Cleaning earns coins. Spend them in the shop on hats, glasses, bow ties, and cozy scarves — your pet actually wears them.

Chase achievements

A dozen milestones — first bite, the GB club, care streaks, reaching level 100 — each drops a badge and a handful of bonus coins.

A pet on your desktop

Pin a mini Mochi on top of your windows. It reacts to your PC's health — and you can drag files straight onto it to feed.

Gentle nudges

When Mochi gets hungry or your disk fills up, a soft reminder brings you back — never spammy, at most once a day, and easy to turn off.

A living little world

Sunny by day, moon and stars by night, clouds and rain when your PC is neglected. Pat Mochi for hearts — and hatch it from an egg on first launch.

Safe by design

A very picky eater

Mochi only eats what is disposable by definition. Locked and in-use files are skipped, never forced. Anything reversible goes through the Recycle Bin — and secure shred is a separate, opt-in tool that only touches files you pick and always confirms first.

On the menu

  • Temp files (yours and Windows')
  • Browser caches — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi
  • App caches — Discord, Slack, Teams & Spotify
  • GPU & DirectX shader caches (rebuilt on demand)
  • Thumbnail & icon caches (auto-rebuilt)
  • Old crash dumps and error reports
  • The Recycle Bin — files you already deleted

Never touched

  • Documents, photos, videos, projects
  • Passwords, cookies, browsing history
  • Program files and system files
  • The registry — no "registry cleaning" snake oil
  • Anything without your explicit say-so

Everything stays home

Your files, your pet, your stats — all of it lives on your device. Nothing is uploaded, ever.

No account

No sign-up, no email, no subscription. Download, install, hatch. That's the whole funnel.

No hidden tracking

The app itself runs offline and phones nobody. The installer sends a single anonymous install count — app & Windows version only, no personal data or identifier.

FAQ

Questions humans ask

Is it actually safe to delete what Mochi eats?

Yes. Mochi's diet is limited to files that are disposable by definition: temp folders, browser HTTP caches (never cookies, passwords, or history), thumbnail caches that Windows rebuilds automatically, old crash dumps, and the Recycle Bin. In-use files are skipped automatically, and fresh temp files (under an hour old) are left alone so running installers aren't disturbed.

Can my pet die?

No. Mochi gets sad and a little dusty when your PC is neglected, but it never dies, never guilt-trips you with timers, and cheers right up after a good meal.

What does Junkmochi actually do to my PC?

It clears real, disposable junk — temp files, browser and app caches, thumbnails, crash reports, the Recycle Bin — and adds genuinely useful tools: free up RAM, find duplicate files, manage startup apps, and securely shred files you want gone for good. No registry "optimization" and no invented problems — just the honest work, wrapped in a pet you actually want to take care of.

Can Mochi permanently erase files?

Only if you ask it to. Everyday cleaning and the Tidy list send things to the Recycle Bin, so they're reversible. Secure shred is a separate, opt-in tool: it overwrites a file's contents before deleting so it can't be recovered, and it always shows a confirmation first. There's also a Wipe free space option that scrubs the remnants of files you deleted long ago, without touching anything you still have.

Will it slow down an old or low-end PC?

No — it's built for them. Junkmochi turns on a lightweight Performance mode automatically on low-end machines (you can toggle it anytime), pauses all animation while it's hidden, and runs its heavy scans off the main thread so the app stays smooth. There's even a one-click RAM boost when things feel sluggish.

Does it run in the background and slow things down?

Junkmochi idles in the system tray and does nothing until you open it. Scans run only when you ask, are read-only, and typically take a few seconds.

What does it cost?

It's free. No trial, no locked features, no "premium" nagging.

Windows says the publisher is unknown — why?

The installer isn't code-signed yet (certificates are pricey for a free indie app). The SHA-256 checksum of every build is published below so you can verify your download.
